DNT

Karma Dorji
Age: 42
Experience: Founder of Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa, CEO of eDruk Consultancy, Telecom Engineer DrukNet, Bhutan Telecom.
Education: Masters of Information.

Describe yourself in three words.
Hardworking, passionate, and a thinker.

Your priority for the constituency.
A good 50-bed hospital with facility for surgery and necessary equipment to check and diagnose most of the diseases. Sanam Gongphelproject, where we would buy agricultural produce of our farmers. Would like to see class X pass students study upto class XII once they pass from class X, thus giving them more opportunities for a better future.

One aspect you like and dislike in the ongoing election process?
The one thing I dislike the most is when someone instead of focusing on their manifesto, criticise and have all the time to mislead people by cooking up stories to defame or make oneself look good. I like when somebody accepts there are more than one way of doing things.

What according to you is the biggest challenge for the country?
The biggest challenge for the country, in terms of election, is having educated electorate who can analyse and make a sound decision. Most of the time it seems there are many fake and deliberately twisted stories and words, just to gain advantage and mislead people. Our educated voters are less and in urban places, and our rural populace is easily influenced, and mostly when religion and politics are mixed.

Three reasons why people should vote for you.
I strongly believe that people should know that it is time to change when things are not working anymore, and one should move with time and not stick to some good old pledges fulfilled earlier. I have always said that this time Nganglam should win, and for Nganglam to win, they should have their representative in the ruling party, not in the opposition. I am confident DNT will form the government this time.
I am a capable candidate and I can bring many positive changes to my constituency.

The first thing you will do if you win.
The first thing I will do is, reconcile, and mend the divisions that the election, party, candidates, supporters and voters would have created. We will work together with all and if possible compile good pledges of other parties that are good for the country and our people.

Social media, a boon or bane in this election for you?
Social media is a good platform that I have used it positively. It is a boon for me.
